Aesthetic value as a predictive signal: schema-modulated priors in the construction of visual experience
This project proposes a theoretical framework — the Schema-Modulated Predictive Aesthetic Construction (SMPAC) model — exploring aesthetic value as an active predictive signal in the visual system rather than a passive downstream evaluation. It examines how internally generated priors, shaped by knowledge, context, and individual differences, may guide perceptual selection, attention, and conscious visual experience.
